  • 1) Take plenty of a condroitin/MSM product to both reduce inflammation and to reinforce the soft tissues of the elbow
    2) Back off on heavy triceps training for at least 4 weeks
    3) When you are ready to hit them, do nothing but light, high-rep pushdowns with bands or a light cable to get blood into the muscle (you can do a half dozen sets of 15-50 reps of these daily)
    4) When you get back to training triceps hard, choose better exercises, avoiding things like overhead extensions or movements the puts stretch on the elbow

    Good luck!

Have you had any x-rays taken or had an MRI done?  It is possible you have cartilage damage and the nerve may be pinched.

Aside from what has already been said by Steve, I noticed improve joint health whith increased fatty acid intake/supplementation and stretching daily.

However, I really do think getting a Dr.'s opinion would be in your best interest.

  • Try to stretch your muscles and don't work out for it for some days and before work out do the stretch exercise for triceps.

  • Well,I came across this tricep area problem( question & answer forum),which i hope has been resolved.I myself have had recent experience with same symptoms & i haven't seen any comments or answers that suggested what my diagnosis & procedures ended up being after months of just trying to deal with it as just progressive tendonitus.I finally sought professional diagnosis from an orthopedic Dr. & Surgeon listed as specialising in treating Sports injuries & athletic complications.Anyway,he immediately ordered x-rays and an MRI. What was discovered, really came as a shock, but made sense. The images came to show a pretty severe, large, jagged,BONESPUR beneath the lower tricep tendon on bone of my elbow.I then had to schedule a surgery,The Sports Orthopedic Surgeon had to go in and shave the bone, clean out any & all debris & reinforce tricep tendon with special sutures on any area frayed by the slicing and dicing that the BONESPUR was working towards eventual total detachment of tendon.Hopefully your tricep tendon has been properly diagnosed, treated,& now resolved. If not, check for possibility of BONESPUR issues.Thank GOD i found out when i did.I had the surgery & rehabbing & training again.I pray that my shared experience helps at least someone, because no amount of anti-inflammatories,icing,rest,stretching & etc. will eliminate BONESPUR issues....
